Reinforcement learning, machine learning, and using AI to make a positive impact!
Lovis received his master's degree - M.Sc. Artificial Intelligence - this summer from Utrecht University where he focused on machine learning, intelligent agents, and cognitive processing. For his thesis, he researched the evaluation of machine learning image classifiers in safety-critical environments at TNO (a Dutch research institute). Before that, he completed his bachelor’s degree in computer science in Darmstadt and worked as a Software Developer on the side.
He will be working on the Strategy Discovery and Cognitive Tutors projects. The goal is to create cognitive tutors that teach people optimal planning strategies for complex real-world tasks, such as time-management.
Less related to work, Lovis - originally from Wiesbaden, Germany - is interested in playing guitar, board games, and bouldering. We're very happy to have him support the Rationality Enhancement Group!
